We all know how important IG is for our businesses, right? It can be a little daunting to make sure we’re using it to it’s fullest potential, so today, I’m breaking down my favorite tips for making sure your bio is setting you apart. It’s all about first appearances… so let’s make it count!
- Do your research! Read a lot of bios, write down key words and phrases that everyone in your industry is using and DO NOT use those same words! Avoid cliches at all costs! If you want to stand out, you’ve got to say something different than what everyone else is saying. Really think about you and the message you want to convey to your potential client, don’t just say what you see other people in the industry saying.
- State your location one time and don’t say it again! So often people will have the location listed in two areas of the bio. This is wasting precious characters!
- Don’t list off your favorite things. My bio used to say that I like coffee and The Office… well, duh. I think most people do. But it didn’t say anything about how I help my client. Think about what you do and how your service impacts your client. Focus on telling about what it’s like to work with you.
- Make sure you have a call to action above the link on your bio (which should go to your website) because the ultimate goal is to get people off of your Instagram and onto your website!
