I love engagement sessions so much! It’s such a great time to get to know my couples and for them to get comfortable in front of the camera. One of the most common questions I get about engagement sessions has to do with locations. I’m always happy to give recommendations, but I always ask my couple a few questions first…
Is there a specific place that is special or has significance to you and your relationship? I have done engagement sessions at a brewery (where the couple had their first date!), college campuses (where the couple met!), at a park where the couple got engaged… you get the idea. It’s always so sweet and fun to tie in part of your story with your engagement session. If you can, I always recommend making it personal!
Another thing to consider is the vibe/theme of your wedding. You may want to keep that same theme in mind with your engagement session to really set the tone with your Save the Dates… or you may want to do something completely different than your wedding to have variety. It’s really up to you!
Piedmont Park
There’s a reason that this is the most popular spot in Atlanta for engagement photos… Piedmont Park is beautiful and it’s huge! There’s so much variety that every single engagement session will be different! And it is super dog friendly, so you can bring your pup!!
Ponce City Market & The BeltLine
For a change of pace from a park, check out Ponce City Market! Just be sure to go in the morning when it isn’t crowded!
Cator Woolford Gardens
Tucked away in Atlanta is this stunning estate and gardens. It is absolutely beautiful. There is a reservation fee for photo shoots, but it is well worth it! And the money actually goes to the non-profit, The Frazer Center.
Jackson Street Bridge
If you’re looking for the skyline & the prettiest sunsets… this is the place!
Winn Park
Little ponds, stone paths… sunlight coming through the trees. This tiny park in the middle of Atlanta is a true gem!
Lake Herrick
Lake Herrick does fall better than any other place I have found! These autumn colors are to die for!
Downtown Madison, GA
Downtown Madison is the prettiest, most picturesque town you ever did see. So many cute shops and sidewalks and little parks… the possibilities are truly endless in this little charmer of a town!
UGA’s North Campus
If you’re a UGA alum (or even if you’re not!), North Campus should definitely be on your location list! It looks more like a story book garden than a college campus. Stunning architecture, pretty paths, and Founder’s Garden… it’s a treasure trove!
My Backyard
Ya’ll, I am not even kidding. If you are wanting a field with tall grass where the sun sets just right, that’s my house. Come on over and we’ll have a little session out back.
Don’t see anything you like?
Let’s fly to the beach! I won’t ever turn that down!
