Historic Savannah, GA Engagement Session
Erin and John’s Perry Lane Hotel Wedding in Savannah could not have been more beautiful. But it wasn’t the last time I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely couple! During their wedding planning process, they decided to forego an engagement session. As I’m sure you’re aware, sometimes it’s difficult to budget, plan for, and fit everything in before your wedding day! However, once Erin’s sister uncovered their decision, she knew she had to intervene. She gifted them a historic Savannah engagement session arguing—and who could blame her?—that it was a vital keepsake for her sister and future brother-in-law capturing this season of their lives.
Regrettably, our busy schedules wouldn’t overlap before the big day. But I knew we still needed to put together something special out of this gift. So we decided to do something fun and untraditional: we planned for an engagement session after the wedding! Reconnecting with Erin and John after the stress and pomp of the big day was surprisingly fun. Walking around one of the South’s most beautiful cities, we discussed how their new married life together was starting off. Their smiles never left their faces as we took photographs all along the way. After this relaxed, beautiful shoot, I can’t help but wish I could do a stress-free, post-wedding photo session with all of my couples now!
Downtown Savannah is always a dreamy location for a romantic photoshoot with its ancient oaks, Spanish moss, and charming fountains. Wearing a flowing green dress from Altar’d State and lit by the most perfect sunbeams, Erin seemed an extension of the surrounding natural beauty. Of course, no trip into this iconic Southern city center is complete without a visit to Leopold’s Ice Cream shop! But the true treat was in capturing how much Erin and John were enamored with each other.
