Backyard Atlanta Elopement
Emily and Justin’s intimate Atlanta elopement was full of the same elegance you’d expect from a traditional wedding. Instead of paying for the big event, the couple decided to go to Italy for three weeks instead. Who can blame them there? I can’t! The cool part is that we still had a ton of fun with just the three of us anyway.
What made this elopement session so sweet is that we still got all the classic photos of the big day. It wasn’t just about that moment before the judge saying “I do.” I was able to snap detail photos—including those absolutely stunning “something blue” Manolo Blahniks—as well as your standard getting ready photos. The intimacy of Emily and Justin getting ready together in their own home really comes out in the tenderness in the photos. I love it!
Once both looked like they’d stepped out of a magazine, we headed down to the Fulton County Courthouse for the elopement. After it was official, we returned to their backyard for more portraits alongside their beautiful pup. Not wanting to miss out on some fun, they took a tequila shot together. But don’t worry, they did head out to meet friends and family for a celebratory dinner.
Have you considered an elopement photographer before?
It’s not very often that a wedding photographer is asked to take elopement photos, but I must say that I would gladly do more of them! No matter the reason or timing of you’re eloping, it is an extremely special day worthy of remembering. Keep scrolling to see the start of their life together!
Fun Fact: Emily found me via Instagram. However, we would go on to discover that I was already photographing Justin’s cousin’s wedding later on in the year! I loved getting to see Emily and Justin again (and hearing about their fabulous Italy trip) at Tess and Nick’s wedding.
