Painted Horse Winery Engagement Session | Milton, GA

Ashley and Andrew’s engagement session at Painted Horse Winery highlighted one of my favorite things about couples: when they’re thinking outside the box! Not only was it a unique location, it was stunning and extremely fun. If you and your significant other have a special restaurant or location, don’t be afraid to ask the business owners if you can stage a photoshoot there. Look how good it turned out for Ashley and Andrew!

Having lived in SEC country my entire life, I have been long aware of collegiate rivalries and see them play out among my clients all the time. Ashley and Andrew are going to be a house divided: she is an Ole Miss grad and he’s a Georgia grad. Thankfully, my husband isn’t a fan of a rival SEC team to my beloved Georgia Bulldogs… but, he is a fan of Georgia Tech. So it may be worse! Needless to say, I know exactly what Ashley and Andrew have looming ahead during football season.

Despite being an Ole Miss grad, Ashley fell in love with their venue, 255 Milledge in Athens, because it checked all of her boxes for visuals and location. Andrew, loaded up with memories from his time in Athens, couldn’t think of anyplace better for them to get married either!

I’m looking forward to photographing their upcoming wedding alongside one of my favorite videographers: the fellow sister team at Claudia Goodwin Films. We’ve worked together previously on a wedding I posted a few weeks ago.

After we left the Painted Horse Winery, we headed back to their neighborhood for a few special shots with their beautiful dogs. Any time a couple says they’ve got pups, I’m in. Check out their engagement session highlights below!
