Caroline’s Bridal Portraits at The Georgia Club | Statham, GA
I’m bringing you something new on the blog today: Bridal Portraits! Caroline and I met up about six weeks out from her wedding for this session at their venue. While wedding days are genuinely important days, a lot of moments can get lost in the schedule and hectic nature of the day. Having this time set aside to capture Caroline’s beauty outside of the stress of the Big Day? I think the photos speak for themselves in how important this can be. She was stunning.
Like all brides, Caroline wanted to do a trial run of what her hair, make-up, and dress would look in photographs. Perfection is what she looked like. I remember looking at the photos and thinking to myself, “Riley doesn’t know what’s coming.”
I know what you might be thinking: “Did she just ruin the wedding dress before the wedding day by posting this?” This isn’t my first rodeo! Caroline married Riley this past weekend over Memorial Day! So after you scroll down to check out her amazing portraits, don’t forget to also check out their engagement session! I’ll have the wedding blog in the near future as well.
Why bridal portraits?
The more I start to do bridal portraits, the more I want to recommend them to my brides. (I haven’t done any special groom portrait sessions, yet, but if you want to schedule one, let’s talk!) There’s something about the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your hair, make-up, and dress work together.
As a photographer, I also loved that we did this portrait session at the wedding venue: The Georgia Club. It allowed me to scout locations and angles. It also allowed us to choose pictures that we absolutely had to get onto her wedding list. If you’ve not considered a portrait session (or engagement session) at your venue, here’s your sign to give it a shot! Your photographer will definitely thank you!
If you schedule a bridal portrait, I highly recommend bringing along your mom, Maid or Matron of Honor and/or another member of your bridal party. This allows them to learn how your dress works before the big day as they are often integral to fanning the train or adjusting the veil. They’ll also remember locations and ideas. It’s never a bad idea to have back-up!
