State Botanical Gardens of Georgia Wedding
Today, we are taking a quick glance at Susan and Greg’s intimate State Botanical Gardens of Georgia wedding! I love this venue more every time I visit. The flowers were showing off in the bright sunlight of spring!
This couple is a perfect example of why I try to keep my blog regularly updated; it’s how they found me! As a small business, there are so many outlets I can use to attract new clients. It’s why I am so grateful for referrals from clients and fellow vendors, but also my creative team who make sure my work here on the blog and on Instagram get noticed. It may just be my name on the business, but I can’t do it without them!
On Portraits
Instead of doing a whole break down of their wedding day, I wanted to take a special moment to focus on portraits. When it comes to planning out the timing of your wedding day, I am a firm believer in allowing more time for portraits than you think will be necessary. I don’t care if this is done with first looks and handled before the ceremony or allowing an extra long cocktail hour. This is one of, if not the, biggest days of your life. The pictures need to capture all the dynamic emotions and feelings of the day!
Many people often tend to (rightly) focus on the bride when planning out the photography schedule, but the groom is a vital part of the day as well. In many ways, the portraits capture that moment of first look for the bride that he has seeing his bride in his dress. Susan and Greg allowed me to capture both of them individually and together. Not only does this represent the day as it comes together from two families into one, but gives each a reminder of what they saw through their own eyes that day.
Portraits should also include the most important people to you there that day, typically your bridal party and closest family members. Intimate joy with those you love the most must be captured!
Did You Know?
Something you may not be aware of, but I do custom pricing for intimate weddings like this one and elopements. I really love the sweetness and secrecy of the day! Reach out to me if you’re interested in having a discussion about this!

I’ll be honest with you, reader. I want to capture more engagement sessions and weddings at this venue. So here’s a collection of photos from Susan and Greg’s day that we can lovingly call a “sales pitch.” Look at how much light and beautiful spring growth is there! I can already see your golden hour engagement session in my head! Let’s talk about them!
