Welcome: The Garden Weddings!
I am so excited to share with you a revamped and refreshed wedding venue just outside Athens: The Garden! Formerly known as the Thompson House & Garden in Bogart, this venue is charming and full of character! I am getting ready to head out to capture their Vendor Sip & See event and I cannot wait to celebrate my local wedding vendor community. Sometimes it’s really fun and refreshing to see “work friends” outside of gameday. What do you mean we don’t have to be stressed and on a strict time table all the time?
I actually have super fond memories of this venue when it comes to the local Athens-area community. Alexis Lunsford and I threw a dreamy, stylized wedding editorial at the Thompson House a few years back to help mentor fellow local photographers just starting off on their career journey. It was an entirely added bonus that we also got to help other vendors with their portfolios! All of the years we’ve worked side-by-side to elevate our brides and grooms’ visions really pay off in these moments.
So when Casey, Elsa, and Michele reached out for these photos from that day to help with their rebrand, I was beyond honored. I am so proud of what all of these vendors put together back in 2021! Looking back, I am thrilled that the vision we casted (and that Danielle at Oakwood Lace & Co. executed to perfection as always) for a luxurious garden party theme matches the timeless, elegant vibe these three ladies envisioned for their new venture. I am so looking forward to seeing what new wedding magic they create at this dreamy venue!
Here’s A Toast To My Real Friends
As I wrote about back in that blog, our industry is hyper localized. What better way to celebrate this new venue joining our local cluster than an evening sipping Sauvy B with my vendor friends than also posting a throwback Thursday blog with some of my never-before-shared photographs from that session celebrating our work? The vendors who participated that day are still quite active in our local community and I love celebrating them! If you are looking at The Garden as a venue, definitely keep these (and me!) in mind. I’ve got the full list of who participated in this gorgeous editorial after the photos. They’re all rockstars!
Sometimes, as wedding photographers, we get caught up in the looking forward. Who is our next couple? Where is our next engagement session? What is the weather on wedding day? Revisiting these photos was an extremely fun way to remember and remind myself to look back at some of the amazing work I’ve done. Who among us doesn’t forget to feel pride and ownership of our work sometimes? With that in mind, here’s just a few more that the lovely team at The Garden used for their branding.

Is Your Brand Ready For It?
Call it what you want, and as cheesy as a metaphor as it is, but I firmly believe a rising tide lifts all ships. Are you a local vendor who wants to spruce up your portfolio? My DMs are always open! If we’ve worked on a wedding together, I’ll gladly give you proof of your work! We’re in this crazy, whirlwind industry side by side. I always take care to capture the ins and outs of the details because I know how hard you worked on it. The bride and groom may never even see what you’ve done on their wedding day. But they’ll see it in my deliverables. It’s timeless and important for their day and your livelihood.
Up next, I’ll be working with one of my favorite venues, the Hadden Estate, for their 2026 rebrand! I always make time for my vendors and venues. Just reach out and I’ll take care of you. You’re my work family.
