A Wedding at the Farm at High Shoals | Bishop, GA
Miranda and Chris’s wedding at the Farm at High Shoals is today’s blog offering. When you combine the stunning white and black classic dress of the bridal party with my favorite venue in the area? I knew it was going to be special directly from the start. Throw on top of it that my favorite wedding planner/florist and my favorite videographer were also working the wedding? Dream team.
I didn’t do an engagement session with Miranda and Chris, but when I heard that the wedding was at the Farm at High Shoals, I was in. Two of my former couples have gotten married here and the venue goes above and beyond not only for the bride and groom, but also the vendors coming in for the wedding. I cannot stress enough how important it is to pick a venue that supports every aspect of the day you want.
Danielle at Oakwood Lace and Co knocked Miranda’s floral vision out of the park. She wanted a neutral palette with hints of pink scattered throughout.
Evan Reece, their videographer, is definitely a favorite of mine… and not just because he’s my husband’s cousin! His work is phenomenal and he lets me borrow the drone for some truly epic shots. If you’re considering a videographer, he comes highly recommended. We worked together on this wedding and this is his video from it. If you’re planning a wedding, you’re going to want to see it.
But enough about the venue and vendors, let’s talk about this beautiful wedding.
Special Memories
Miranda wore a dress from Sakred, a specialized boutique in Watkinsville, GA, and I don’t use the word epic lightly to describe it. Some wedding dresses just look like they were designed to be worn by one bride specifically. We had an absolute blast capturing bridal photos where she swirled and twirled, bringing the dress (and her smile) to life. It’s pretty easy to understand why Miranda and Chris didn’t want to do a first look when you had such a showstopper of a dress.
However, Chris did get to do a first look with their daughter before the wedding. It was one of the most precious things I have ever seen! There are a lot of classic firsts looks: bride and her father, bride and groom, bride and her bridesmaids… but don’t be afraid to ask for something out of the box and special to you. This is your day. These are the memories you want for forever.
Miranda and Chris got married in a ceremony spot that faced the villa. I love that with every wedding, there is a new location on this venue to photograph. They also had the cocktail hour out on the island on the grounds. There is nothing like a gorgeous golden hour with a drink and great location.
