Downtown Atlanta Engagement Session in Piedmont Park | Atlanta, GA
Shaye and Foster’s downtown engagement session in Atlanta returns us to one of the classic locations of our city: Piedmont Park! This couple is super sweet and I’m so excited to share some of their story with you today. The weather was perfect and the skyline continues to be an iconic background, especially from the gazebo!
We started our time together at Dark Horse Tavern. I love when couples take me back to the place where it all began. In this case the location of their first date! Capturing the moments where it is coming full circle just brings a smile to my face. The more sentimental locations you want to incorporate, the more I am on board! Not to mention, if you want to incorporate your animals like Shaye and Foster incorporated their dog, Penny… you know that I’m always in.
Shaye and Foster are getting married at Summerour Studio in early 2025. One thing I adore about this venue is that it provides a small taste of Tuscany in Atlanta. One thing I adore even more? Getting to work with Oakwood Lace & Co. and One Night Entertainment again! Counting down the day until we’re celebrating this beautiful couple together!
The Secret to Piedmont Park
Recently, a potential bride asked me on a consult call how I get so many great photos at Piedmont Park without people in the background. The long answer shortened is: photoshop. Not only do I use my eye for detail during our session to try to eliminate as much background noise as possible, I also make sure that you are the only thing in your final deliveries. Attention to detail from start to finish is part of my work ethic and promise to my brides.
If you’ve got a vision for your engagement session, including location, let your photographer know. Shaye really wanted to play into a vintage, black and white, slightly blurry photo vibe. She even chose her outfits to help assist this vision come to life. Having this information allowed me to adjust my capture style and design ideas to deliver the best results possible!

Now Booking 2025
Odds are pretty high that if you’re reading my blog posts, you’re checking out my portfolio to see if we’re a good fit for each other. I hope you think we are! I’d love to chat with you. I am now booking my 2025 calendar and would love to pencil in your wedding on one of these blank weekends! Don’t forget that we’ve begun offering a new in-house content creation service (learn more below). One thing I’ve also been playing with lately is a Super 8 camera; would you want something like this from your engagement session? On top of our standard engagement + wedding package, we offer add-ons for rehearsal dinners, burying the bourbon, bridal portraits, and select travel opportunities (not that I’m begging for an Italian destination wedding… but I am). I can’t wait to hear from you!
Content Creation
A new service that we’re offering at Sarah Folsom Photography is Content Creation. What is this? This is a third person on your photography team who is dedicated to snapping in the moment candids and video clips on their iPhone throughout the entirety of the day. Do you need a Get Ready With Me TikTok for your wedding day? We’ve got you covered. Want to share a video of your grandma dancing with your college roommate to Instagram while on your honeymoon? It’s happening. All Content Creation content is delivered within 48 hours of the wedding so that while you’re relaxing poolside and waiting for your portraits, the entire world can start to share in your joy.
