A Luxurious Destination Wedding

Dean and Sonya‘s luxurious destination wedding in the wine country of California felt like something out of a dream. Every time I caught some new floral detail, or the sun illuminated the vineyards just so, or the bride and groom smiled brighter than the sun, I felt like I had to pinch myself!

Sonya wore a custom Ese Azenabor gown. Show. Stopper. It weighed around fifty pounds, came with custom handlers, and the skirt was removable for a different reception look. The beadwork on the bodice was stunning. I think it’s actually impossible to describe just how perfect this dress was.

Just like the dress, the florals were larger than life. They demanded you pay attention them! Well, if you could take your eyes off of Sonya and Dean! We absolutely love the color palette and that purple was so prominently displayed. The color of the flowers were perfect against the verdant and lush greens of the venue.

MaKela from Cole Drake Events ran a flawless event; she was an incredible coordinator! Chez La Mariee hand painted custom invitations that were frame-worthy, as well as painted during the ceremony.

A Reception Amongst the Vines

Sonya, Dean, and I snuck off into the vines to do some portraits during golden hour. It was one more moment where I had to remind myself that this was my actual life and I was blessed to be doing it. Not only were they a beautiful couple, but every moment felt magnified and intimate.

Zephyr Tents brought in a massive pergola to be erected in the middle of the vineyards for the meal and dancing. I felt like I walked directly into a movie set. It was truly magical. The flowing white sheets, the florals, the atmosphere… literal perfection. Don’t even get me started on how awesome the cake looked!

But the setting was just a small thing in comparison to the joy of the attendees. I’ve not seen a reception have this much fun very often. I love when people are truly giving into the celebration and joy of the day!

If I could capture every wedding in Sonoma County, I absolutely would. The California sunshine was perfect for photos: bright, but also soft enough to allow the subjects to shine. It was an absolute dream. Keep going to see some of my favorites; and trust me, it was hard to choose!
