A Taylor Grady House Wedding Reception | Athens, GA

Frances and William’s wedding reception at Taylor-Grady House, following a gorgeous ceremony at Emmanuel Episcopal, was a beautiful explosion of spring colors. I’m lowkey obsessed with the green and pink trend going on in wedding design lately. Frances’s chosen hues of pink were absolutely perfect.

Speaking of absolutely perfect, Frances hand-painted the envelope liner for their invitations herself. How absolutely awesome is that? I am constantly blown away by what my brides bring to the table. It’s a constant joy to experience all the facets of people that come out around their weddings.

I would be remiss to not mention how much of an immense party the reception was. Frances executed a perfect dress change. The dance floor was packed, filled with props, and a rocking live band gluing it all together. I think you can tell a lot about people’s vibes by the party their reception turns into!

An Elegant Southern Venue

The Taylor-Grady House has quickly become one of my favorite wedding venues in Athens, Georgia. Photographing Charlotte and Conner’s beautiful Christmas wedding at the house last year only made me love it even more. It’s such a classic, iconic Athens venue that perfectly blends Southern charm with timeless elegance. The grand columns and expansive porches create stunning backdrops while providing beautiful, soft light throughout the day, making portraits effortless in every season. Inside, the recent updates have given the home a fresh, refined feel with new paint and brightened spaces, all while carefully preserving its character.

And then there’s the garden—without question, my favorite spot for portraits on the ground. The beautifully manicured landscaping paired with the historic charm of the house creates an incredibly romantic setting. The light seems to fall perfectly there, resulting in images that feel timeless and elegant.
