Venue Highlight: The Hadden Estate | Watkinsville, GA
Today we’re starting something new with the blog for the next few months: a venue highlight of the Hadden Estate! After putting together the blogs about favorite engagement locations and welcoming our new local venue The Garden, I thought it would be a perfect time to highlight some of my favorite venues to work at! These are the venues we’ve gone back to time and time again, building relationships with their staff and vendors. So, naturally, we have to start with the Hadden Estate!
Recently, Danielle (of Oakwood Lace and Co.) and her husband Josh took over as operators. We at SFP want to wish them the warmest congratulations! As a part of their new operation plan, they invited in many of our fellow, local wedding vendors for an evening at the venue where we got to experience life “in front of the camera.” I’ll tell you more about it below!
Located right outside of Athens in Watkinsville, you may know the Hadden Estate under a bevy of different, yet similar names. The Hadden Estate at DGD Farms, Hadden Estate at Damn Good Dawgs Farms… you get the picture. Whatever you may call it, the Hadden Estate is definitely one of the most beautiful venues in my local area!

Amongst The Blueberries
One thing that adds texture that I love as a photographer is that it is also a working blueberry farm. I can’t express to you (but I can show you) how beautiful the rows and rows of blueberry bushes are in full bloom at golden hour. Just look at venue operator Lily and her husband in them!
(This blog is publishing after their wedding, but I had so much fun doing a mini session with them as one of their last moments of fiancés! Congrats on getting married!)

Exploring The Space
As I mentioned above, us vendors were invited to spend a day like clients. It was so fun to experience a venue I normally am locked in and in the zone for. Danielle and Josh really held nothing back and spoiled our vendor community!
The grounds at Hadden Estate all have different flares and flavors–so naturally they did an open bar with themed cocktails and mini bites to reflect this! How cool! While on the ceremony lawn overlooking the blueberry fields, we sipped on spicy blueberry margaritas paired with mini tacos. I mean, come on. When in the bridal cottage we had a French 75 paired with chicken biscuits. That’s the attention to detail we always loved when we watched Danielle work with couples and we love it expanding to the venue level as a whole.

A Toast to My Friends!
I always look for ways to pay it forward, so while at this event I partnered with Hadden Estate to offer complimentary headshots for all of our other vendors! You’ve seen me talk about Kayla and Jay before; here’s what those beautiful souls actually look like!

A Night for the Clients
Of course, the following night, the open house was all about our clients! Hadden invited me back for complimentary mini sessions (complete with content creation videos by Olivia!) while clients strolled through the grounds, checking out the different venue offerings. They also got the fun drink and snack combos! Danielle, Josh, and Lily had set up many different designs and experiences for their clients to gather inspiration.

It was a true showcase of all of the offerings that Hadden can provide a couple. It truly is a versatile place and operated by a team ready to execute your vision.
We want to wish the best of luck to Danielle, Josh, Lily, and the team! We’ll be seeing you again soon!
