Intimate State Botanical Gardens of Georgia Wedding

I absolutely loved Kylie and Vivek’s intimate botanical garden wedding! I’ve mentioned it before, but the State Gardens on UGA’s campus are a dream location for me. I want to take as many portrait sessions as possible in the rose garden!

Kylie and Vivek eschewed tradition to instead focus on togetherness. This started long before the day of the wedding. He even went with her to find the wedding dress! Over the course of the three months that they planned the wedding, he was involved every single step of the way. Everything they did together was organic and natural. The joy and love that flowed out of this foundation are evident on their faces throughout the day!

A super cute thing that I loved is that Vivek made sure to have his shoes, watch, and ring ready for a stylized photo. I usually have to fight my grooms tooth and nail for a focus on the details and he was lining his up for me!

They got ready together at the cutest AirBnB in Athens. I do recommend getting ready at AirBnBs to couples when they ask because they often have much more space and better lighting than hotel rooms. The home-y atmosphere and feel often makes everyone much more at ease!

As we were packing up to head to the venue, I turned around and noticed Vivek’s parents sitting together on the porch swing. Immediately pulling my camera back out, I grabbed a photo that I knew everyone would cherish. They were peaceful, content, and living in this moment of joy. It was beautiful and is easily my favorite photo of the day!

Be Intentional, Be In The Moment

The wedding ceremony took place at the Terrace inside the botanical gardens. Nearby, the reception within the Terrace Room. Both were extremely lovely settings! But we all know that the gardens themselves are the stars… after the bride and groom of course!

Continuing to eschew tradition, they also did not have a wedding party. Both of them were walked in by their parents, which I found just absolutely beautiful! They made certain to spend time with each of their guests, intentionally having connections. Vivek and Kylie were so relaxed and in the moment in a way not many can pull off on such a momentous day.
