Ivy Hall Wedding | Roswell, GA

The Ivy Hall Wedding of Emma and Brendan is extremely special because there are middle school sweethearts! High school and college sweethearts are very common amongst my clients, but this was a first for me. Last Spring, we shot their engagement photos at their alma mater, Georgia, and I was excited to work with them at a new venue for me: Ivy Hall in Roswell, Georgia.

Ivy Hall is located next to the public park, Roswell Mill, which provided this couple fantastic photo opportunities. As always, with public parks you run the risk of crowds being disruptive to your photos. However, in my experience, most people are kind and courteous when they see brides and grooms out taking photos and it adds an extra layer of pomp and excitement to the shoot.

A cool thing that Emma and I did before the wedding was a one-on-one bridal session at the venue and in the park. Not only did this allow her to get comfortable with me, but allowed us to scout locations we couldn’t miss during the big day! Having a list of ideas and background locations makes my job and your day flow easier. Have you considered doing a pre-wedding session at your venue locations?

Emma and her bridesmaids got ready in her childhood home. Considering how long this couple has been together, it was a full circle moment and really fitting and sweet. Bristle and Bride did a wonderful job with the hair and make-up as always. Raina is precise and intentional in her work and I personally find her styling to be timeless. What more could you want?

Speaking of timeless, jewel tones are always the move and I adored the choice of the emerald bridesmaid dresses. It’s such a perfect, fun fall color that allows the bride to pop as well! They especially looked good while dancing out on the dance floor. Three, The Entertainer had everyone hyped with his playlist and dancing out in the crowd.
