Private Estate Wedding in Lyons, GA

Today we’re traveling down into Central Georgia for Carlie and Kyler’s private estate wedding in Lyons! Since my career has started, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing a few private estate weddings and let me just say: I love them! The freedom and creativity by not having to conform to venue rules and restrictions really allows the wedding to shine! (But we still love our favorite venues, don’t worry.)

Carlie’s grandfather helped her plan this wedding. They utilized the stunning grounds with the lake backdrop to perfection. Already dotted with palm trees and flowering bushes everywhere, they made smart decisions to bring the ceremony and reception to life. The ceremony ground arch was absolutely perfect. I loved that it created a special space without impeding the lake view.

Because of the special relationship between Carlie and her grandfather, you know I had to get them together for a first look. Even in weddings where you want to save the bride and groom first look for the ceremony, having that special reveal moment with the most important people to your life is an absolute must. When you’re working with your photographer, hopefully me, on your wedding capture list, don’t be afraid to plan these special moments. You won’t regret the joy and happy tears together.

Destination Weddings

Central Georgia may not seem like your traditional destination wedding, but I loved how I was able to plan a camping and boating weekend around my work in a new place around this wedding. When it is summer time, the Folsoms like to camp and fly across the waves. The next day we were in the Atlantic off the coast of Savannah making the most of our family time together! That’s such a big reason of why I started working for myself in the first place: I can still prioritize my kids.
