The Chapel Athens Wedding
Kaitlyn and Dillon’s wedding at The Chapel Athens continued the trend of their engagement session: celebrating the couple and the city of Athens around them. As it is practically my home town as well, I’m obsessed with some of the city portrait shots we captured between the wedding and the reception.
If Kaitlyn looks familiar, she was a bridesmaid of Ashley. I love when brides refer their friends to me. It lets me know they loved their photographs as much as I love taking them! If you’re a bride I’ve worked with, please keep me in mind as your friends begin planning their wedding. And, a bonus, we’ll probably get to see each other again at their wedding! Sounds like a win-win to me!
One beautiful thing about being a referral is getting to work with a lot of the same vendors because friends help other friends make choices. It was great getting to see Rachel Carter and the DJ La Darius again!
This was our first time at Chapel Athens and we definitely fell in love with the venue. The restoration choices allowed this iconic chapel in the middle of downtown Athens to shine! While brought to modern standards and decor, the integrity and charm of the venue were definitely kept in focus! We’ve got a few more weddings lined up here and we can’t wait to go back!
Laura of Gardenia Florals elevated the space and wedding even further with an absolute home run of a floral design. The ceremony asymmetrical arch and bouquets kept drawing the focus of my camera throughout the day! I love being able to capture excellent work that my fellow vendors do as well.
It Feels Like A Perfect Night
I don’t often take weddings on the same weekend, but when the brides are perfect fits for me, I can’t say no! After how much fun I had at Ashlyn and Matt’s wedding, I was excited to see what Kaitlyn and Dillon would bring.
If you haven’t caught on by now, I am a major Swiftie. So is Kaitlyn. And La Darius did not let us down at the reception! In fact, this wedding definitely featured the most Taylor Swift songs being rotated into your wedding dance floor classics. It also featured the most people dancing and singing along! At one point, Dillon pretend to propose to Kaitlyn all over again during “Love Story” and the place went nuts!
Related, Kaitlyn made friendship bracelets with their wedding date and last name as a party favor for all of their guests. You know I grabbed one!
Congratulations again, Kaitlyn and Dillon! Here are just a few of my favorites from the day.
