255 Milledge Wedding | Athens, GA
For my first blog of the new year, we are diving into Ashley and Andrew’s wedding at 255 Milledge! I’ve spent so much time with them over the last year that this one feels exceptionally special. If you haven’t checked out their engagement session or their bury the bourbon session yet, definitely do so before checking out this one! I shared their rehearsal dinner last week as well. I’m simply in love with them.
While capturing these moments, I couldn’t help but be proud of her bridesmaid dress choice. More people should experiment with patterns! It’s one of my favorite choices for wedding party attire to date! Especially with the touches of blue connecting throughout the entire wedding. It’s very satisfying when everything ties together in a perfect aesthetic. Ashley’s style was very sleek and prominent throughout!
After the ceremony, we snuck off to dig up the buried bourbon. The wedding party and close family all took a shot! I loved capturing this tradition. It is so important to build these moments of family, friendship, and connection into these big days! I love capturing these memories for my bride and groom.
Plan For All Types of Weather
Their wedding fell on one of the hottest days of the year. Between sunshine and rain, I personally vote extra sunshine! Rain threatened on the forecast, but held off through the outdoor ceremony. Thanks, Blantons!
Ashley had a dress change before the open floor dance. This is something I highly recommend for my brides who are getting married in the summer, especially if any portion of your wedding day takes place outside. It keeps you looking fresh and lets you get more comfortable for the party!
Speaking of party… this was a super fun dance floor. Hairy Dawg even made an appearance! Ashley had custom sunglasses made. We passed them around among the guests for a photo op! Check out an example down in the photos below. This got more guests involved who would’ve otherwise stuck to the chairs and tables. Always look for new and creative ways to get your guests involved!
It’s always bittersweet when the wedding journey comes to an end, but I am so excited to see them again next spring at Kaitlyn and Dillon’s wedding! So, without further ado, here are some of my favorites!

2024 Dates Are Booking Fast
For all my future brides who have been looking into my work, I did want to let you know that my 2024 dates are booking fast. I know that planning a wedding during our current economy can feel extra daunting. One thing to remember is that your photographs will be one of the longest lasting keepsakes from this day that you’ll ever have. Make sure that you connect with your chosen photographer’s portfolio. Go beyond their curated Instagram feed (follow me if you don’t) and check out their actual galleries and blogs. They are still curated, but will give you a broader scope of what they’re bringing to your table. If you see a photographer’s work that captures the magic you’re desiring for your day? Don’t settle for less.
But also don’t forget to consider how your personalities mesh, how they may interact with your bridal party and family, or your other vendors. Did they come recommended from your trusted wedding planner? Do they have good reviews from former brides and other clients? When you spoke to them, did they pay attention to the details and grasp your vision?
Of course, I do hope you’re considering me. Interested in getting your wedding onto my 2024 calendar? I’d love to chat with you, just click here to get started.
