Great Waters at Reynolds Wedding | Lake Oconee, Georgia

Jena and George’s wedding at Great Waters at Reynolds begs the question, “Why is every wedding not on the lake?” If you’ve been reading my blog, you’ve probably discovered that Lake Oconee is one of my happy places. Being able to capture such a stunning wedding here at Reynolds just continues to build up this location! If you’re considering a lake wedding, I’m your girl. But back to Jena and George.

Everything about this day was gorgeous. From the clubhouse to the grounds to the gardens and most importantly the people. The floral work done by Designs by Kent perfectly accented the views and aesthetic of the wedding. We’ve loved working with Gilly Francis Events in the past, and this time was no different. Everything she plans goes off without a hitch!

The weather cooperated so perfectly for a tented reception. During the ceremony, it was the perfect temperature of warm and once the dance floor was packed, the perfect cool to keep everyone moving. See why I think every wedding should be on the lake?

Golden Hour Always Matters

Jena and George did a first look and we were able to capture a vast majority of the portraits and requested photos before the wedding. However, there are nothing like the photos captured after the vows and the joy of the day has settled into the bride and groom. And, man oh man, the dockside golden hour photos from this day are some of my absolute favorites! Earlier, during the portraits, it was far too bright for the photos to take place here. But I knew we had to come back, and I’m so glad we did.

If you are in the process of planning your wedding day, make sure you take time for golden hour. I promise you it’s worth it.
