Avenue of the Oaks & Jekyll Island Club Engagement Session | St. Simons, GA & Jekyll Island, GA
Brooke & JT’s coastal engagement session had the dreamiest lighting. Despite living in Atlanta, the couple decided they wanted to do a day-trip destination location for these pictures. Needless to say, as we drove from stormy Atlanta to the sun-washed coast, it felt like we made the right decision! You’ll never have to ask me twice to travel down to the coast for a session!
Our session started at the iconic Avenue of the Oaks on St. Simons Island. I love the way the warm lighting filters through the trees. There’s something special about the way Spanish moss looks on these ancient oak trees that feels like we stepped into a sacred, ancient place.
We then moved over to the Jekyll Club over on Jekyll Island for the remainder of the session. Nothing makes me happier than the scent of salt on a sea breeze. The main club house provided a perfect backdrop with its well-manicured grounds for another round of pictures. Personally, I love when I can photograph couples near water, so getting out on the dock was a must!
Brooke and JT are getting married at Atlanta Athletic Club. One thing I love about this venue choice is that it is also where Brooke’s parents got married! Weddings are often steeped in tradition and it’s beautiful to share that heritage with her parents. One of my good friends Lindsey Wise is the planner and I super excited to see what she planned with them for their big day!
