Downtown Madison Engagement Session

Caroline and Riley’s downtown Madison engagement session ended in one of the most magical moments I’ve ever captured. Don’t skip ahead to the end, but definitely stay and scroll until you see the final pictures. Our families have been friends for a long time, so I’ve known the couple prior to them choosing me as their photographer. I loved being able to walk around our hometown together and share stories as we took the shots.

We started out by exploring the downtown area. I’ve photographed quite a few engagement sessions here, so I’ve learned some of the best locations. However, since we share this as our hometown, we shortly began wandering side streets to snag unique pictures of places they knew as well. Out of the blue, a nice homeowner introduced himself and then offered his backyard garden as a location. We saw the flowers and instantly said yes! He and his wife were very talkative with us and we enjoyed the unique location we got out of their kindness.

Afterwards, we moved to Caroline’s childhood home and the flower fields near their house. Wow! The blue in her dress, the yellow of the flowers, the world glowing around them… pure magic. Not only is the location sentimental, adding another layer of magic, but it really felt like everything came together perfectly for these shots.

Caroline and Riley will be getting married later this month at The Georgia Club. I already know it’s going to be a fun party! Check out their session below.
